EU-Mexican Researchers Brokerage Event

An EU-Researchers Brokerage Event was organized at the premises of Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia (CONACYT) in Mexico City between 28-29 February 2012.

This event was organized as an initiative by the EU-funded project under FP7 Capacities Programme “Access2mexcyt”. The thematic was energy and mobility programmes offered by Mexican organizations.

The event aimed to bring close European and Mexican researchers to discuss cooperation opportunities in science and technology in Mexican programmes as well as serve as a starting point for forging long-term cooperations.

Twenty European researchers were selected and met with Mexican counterparts to discuss participation in Mexican S&T programmes as well as explored the potential to jointly develop projects, mostly on energy.

The event was held in two days. During the first day, presentations were held on the Mexican S&T system, Mexican programmes open to European participation as well as fellowships offered by Mexican organizations. Following the presentations, a B2B session was held between EU-Mexican researchers. Upon completion of the B2B, all participants were asked to state their opinion on existing barriers between EU-Mexican cooperation.

During the second day, interested researchers met with researchers at the Instituto de Investigaciones Eléctricas and the Centro de Investigacion en Energia, Universidad Autonoma de Mexico (CIE-UNAM), both situated at Morelos.
